Azure Lights - Prologue - Version 1.3


Ages ago, the "Gods" of this world created eleven Guardians to preserve all living beings and the natural order of the place. These Gods gave the Guardians a gift: ten gems that contained an infinite power. Using these gems, the world would enjoy prosperity.

Each Guardian protected a part of the planet, and they were worshipped as gods for the societies that lived on their domains. In return, they gave the gems to these societies, so that they could use them as a way to live in peace with everything and everyone.

As the time passed, the prosperity of humanity made it develop, become more intelligent, and then, starting to discover special things... The technology grew fast. Human mind was becoming so strong that their Guardians end up forgotten, and the gems started to be used for experiments. Many war weapons were created, many types of machines were built, and... they were close to discovering how to create "Life", how to "play Gods".

The Guardians, of course, were furious with everything their protected ones were doing... As soon as the experiments succeeded, the Guardians freed the humans' creations from them, and made them fight their makers, starting a bloody war, that could extinguish humanity forever.

After a long and ferocious battle, all humans were destroyed, and their creations were now the dominant species of this little planet. However, among them, there were still many that kept dangerous thoughts to their own species, like the humans'. Would a new war start between them?

The Guardians made a choice; they chose to hide these two sides from each other, an then, the Xepher Barrier was created. A place with plenty of magic, so big that it could split the planet in two. It was enchanted so that no one would get close to it, or even see it. This way, no one could reach the other side...

As the time passed, the wall was forgotten by everyone, along with the gems, that were hidden by the Guardians in special places, with chosen families. Without knowing of these mystic artifacts existance, the new species of this land lived well for thousands of years. But, there was still something very wrong there...


In a large room, in some place forgotten by everyone, a group of ten individuals debated about something.
- Say, my sister, why did you called this gathering?
- It's true, there are thousands of years since you last gave us a warning, Aetas. Is something happening?
- No my brothers, but soon it will happen. Something is disturbing life on the world below us.
- Yes, I could notice that.
- What do you mean by disturbing life?
- The creatures of the world we protect are being tortured, some even cease being mortals or lose their real minds and turn into monsters.
- At least it's not like last time. The lambs' stupidity scares me...
- Yes, Ignis, but they already paid once for this stupidity.
- This is not the point, Uri. Do you know what is happening, sister?
- Not exactly. I couldn't see the face of the one who is behind this.

A smile could be seen in the darkness, the three silhouettes that arrived late had left through the same door from which they came in.
